La Ville Hotel

Amazing from start to finish! I arrived in the early evening and my room key was ready waiting for me. The room was incredibly spacious and very clean. I was in room 102 overlooking the high street and it was so peaceful and quiet. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and breakfast was wonderful. There was complimentary water and a drinks voucher offered at the bar next door. I would highly recommend for a stay.

Second year we have stayed at the hotel with a lads fishing trip. Must say the stay has been excellent, Sophie White the GM really looked after us all. Breakfast was top notch, very friendly, excellent rooms at a great price. Could not ask for more and will be booking for next year as well. Would recommend to anyone Steve

As previous reviews have said, this hotel is attached to a noisy bar, which is part of the same business. We innocently assumed that being on a small island we would escape partygoers, but we were kept awake two nights running. The first night there were drunks shrieking under the window, as we had been put in a room at the front of the property. Complained to the duty manager but he just said he couldn't do anything about it as the drunks were 'in the other quarter' (what difference does that make if it's the same business? Don't you want your hotel guests to sleep??). The next morning, I asked that we be relocated to a quieter room. The manager working that day did do that for us, and we thought we'd be ok as the new room was at the back overlooking the churchyard...after a peaceful evening exploring the town and the island, we returned to the room about 10PM to find deafening kareoke blaring out from the bar. I've never heard kareoke so loud and invasive! We were both nearly going spare. It didn't stop until 1AM. In the morning, I wearily asked the same manager who moved us if there was any more live entertainment planned. Although apologetic, his excuse for the noise was that we were staying on an island of 2000 alcoholics (!!). Well, sorry, but by keeping your bar open that late and disturbing your guests, how are you managing to keep your business going, and also, aren't you fuelling the supposed alcohol problem?? We just moved to another hotel on the island, which was much quieter and free from caterwauling drunks. Disappointed? Yes. Well, stressed out and worn ragged by lack of sleep, would be more accurate. Go elsewhere!

We sailed to Alderney , and found our usual haunts unwilling or pre booked for food. Imagine our surprise to find La Ville in St Anne had reopened. Lovely decor, smart and up to date. Prices are good, staff are helpful. A quiet place at the moment, but maybe this review will help change that. 3rd visit this lunchtime, for a quick drink. Highly recommended.

Fabulous! Huge room with a lovely view of the church and surrounding area. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast choice… they even had Red bush tea! 👏. Peaceful, comfortable stay. Highly recommended. Thank you 😊

We booked last minute in late June and La Ville was the only hotel with spare occupancy due to Alderney Week. Mark the manager booked us in to a quiet room at the back corner overlooking St. Anne church The hotel has had a minor facelift and was looking very tidy on our arrival. A 10 minute walk from the airport with suitcases in tow. The weather was glorious so we ditched the taxi. Mark greeted us on arrival with a warm smile and took us straight up to our room which was very tidy with a lovely small balcony and great views. The hotel is right in the middle of town and it can get a little noisy at times, especially during Alderney week and kicking out time at the pub next door. However if you get a room at the back it's much quieter on the odd occasion it is noisy. Breakfasts were great with lots of choice of cooked or help yourself cereals/croissants etc. We did not eat in the hotel as we had booked other places for dinner and an evening stroll. We hired bikes from the lovely people at Cycle & Surf and manged to cover 30 miles in the two full days we were there. So many things to do without the added bonus of Alderney week and the hotel was perfect for our needs at a very good price considering the summer holidays and Alderney week. Highly recommend the island and this hotel.
